PROJECT DETAILS

Ernest Shackleton was originally from Kildare and for many years the former courthouse dating from 1740 has housed the Shackleton Museum. A major refurbishment of the museum is being undertaken which will include an iconic four-story-high glass atrium to the rear of the building shaped to resemble an ice burg. The museum will now house many unique and irreplaceable exhibits which require significant coordination by the design team with the conservators and other specialists.
