CAD/BIM Technician

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a broad variety of projects which includes small alterations to protected structures to multimillion Euro new developments.  The project range includes Commercial, Retail, Hotel, Residential, Educational and Industrial throughout the country.  Drafting support will also be required for the preparation of Fire Safety and Disability Access Certificate application and some planning applications.

You will manage all aspects of drafting on your projects from conception through to completion using AutoCAD or Revit.  The successful candidate will be working as part of a team, which will include contact with other Design Team members and some Clients. You will be reporting to a Director or Senior Engineer.

 

The candidate should be willing to develop the existing range of services and the quality of the products already provided.  This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced draft person to take a leading role and place their stamp on a medium sized consultancy.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ previous experience in a design consultancy or design-build contractor.
  • Expert in using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience developing detailed design models and drawings for construction and preparation of reinforcement drawings and schedules.
  • Good technical aptitude and ability.
  • Experience in Civil3D and CADS RC beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare 2D & 3D drawings/models for Fire, Civil and Structural Engineering projects.
  • Produce reinforced concrete rebar details and schedules.
  • Produce concrete, steel, masonry detailed drawings and drainage layouts.
  • Liaise with project teams to produce drawings in line with project requirements in a timely and efficient manner with limited supervision or direction.
  • Self-checks own work and reviews work by others, identifying any discrepancies or errors.
  • Keeping project folders updated and organized to Company BIM Standards.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies and developments in the industry and identify new products that could improve efficiencies.
  • Opportunities to assist with site surveys and checking of reinforcement.
  • Correspondence with Outside Design & Construction Professionals including Architects, Engineers, Contractors and Clients.
  • Flexible in approach to work and a team player.
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise own tasks with good time management.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail working to high standards of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • technical background desirable, ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of the Irish Construction Industry would be advantageous.
  • Good command of the English language.
