McCrae Consulting Engineers were invited to undertake Civil and Structural Engineering design for 14 new semi detached houses to be used for social housing by Longford County Council. Although the houses were in effect standard houses, they had a challenging roof layout. The contractor developed an unusual technique of constructing the roofs on the ground and then lifting them into place.
