This development of 9 large five bedroom semi detached houses posed many unique challenges. Despite being in the middle of Dublin it soon became apparent in the early design stages that drainage was going to be a significant issue as there was neither foul or surface’ water drainage connections available. The structure of these three storey houses also posed challenges as they contained a large open plan attic space which required an intricate cut roof design. Working closely with the project Architect and the Client we successfully developed solutions to allow this challenging site to be developed.
Key Tasks and Challenges:
- Civil and Structural Engineering
- Tight brown field site
- Unique drainage designs to deal with lack of public services
- Large 3 storey houses
